Gotta Go

I gotta go, it is time to leave

Why am I here I beg you please

My bags are packed and duty calls

I take one last stand never to fall

I said my words they all know the truth

All my love is held in the hearts of you!

~Favorite Things~

They say in life, of everyone that you encounter each is a teacher and a student. But in memory of Carl AKA Daddy, Grandpa, & PaPa, we will speak of his teachings only.

Carl had many favorite things though small and insignificant in nature they defined who he was.

His first favorite thing was his family. His only daughter Darlene was who he was most loyal to. He loved her immensely and unconditionally. Daddy taught me how to work hard and be proud of my work no matter what the task. He loved Kimberly his only granddaughter and Grandpa taught me patience and tolerance.

He loved his Great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cierra and Ramsey, PaPa taught us history and how to respect and incorporate his history into our future.

He loved Wil and taught him to fight for his family, and respect himself.

He taught all of us how to create our own loving family. He wanted each of you to know that you were a part of his family. Everyone here that is sharing with us today our loss of a beautiful soul was a part of his family. Whether you are here because he touched your life or here because you love someone who loved him, you are his family.

He loved ski hats, to keep his sinuses from acting? up, Juicy Fruit gum, cause his mouth would get dry, cough drops to keep him from getting the flu. He loved pretty women, just because!

He loved eggplant parmesan, pizza, shrimp and pasta, pork and rice and cornbread. And the all important desert, ANYKIND!

But most of all he loved life, not perfectly or completely, but wonderfully!

He thought he had a few regrets the last years of his life, but he filled them with Pizza Parties, Movie nights, Boat rides to Honeymoon Island, Beer and a football Games and Barbeques on the Bay with his family.

His wish for you is that you would do the same.

I?m Free

Don?t grieve for me, for now I?m free

I?m following the path God has laid you see

I took His hand when I heard Him call

I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day

To laugh to love, to work, or play

Task left undone must stay that way

I found peace at the close of the day

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;

Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life?s been full, I savored much;

Good friends, Good times, a loved one?s touch.

Perhaps my time seems all too brief;

Don?t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now, he set me free.
