Edward A. ?Pappy? Wargo Sr., 83, of Largo, FL and formerly of Bridgeport, CT. passed away at the East Bay Nursing Center, Largo, FL on December 18, 2007 of natural causes. A Bridgeport, CT native, Pappy was a retired supervisor for Moore Special Tools, a Catholic; a SGT. in the US Army Veteran during World War II serving as a light tank crewman; a avid boater and fisherman; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Pequonnock and Fayerweather Yacht Clubs. During his military career, Pappy served in the Rhineland and Ardennes Campaigns and was awarded a ?Purple Heart?; Good Conduct Medal; Victory Medal; and a European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal. Pappy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary E. Wargo of Largo, FL; his sons: Gary V. Wargo Sr. and his wife, Peggy of Seminole, FL and Edward A. Wargo Jr. and his wife, Rita of Bridgeport, CT; a daughter, Mary Michelin of Monroe, CT; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services are private. I have many fond memories of special times with “Apa”. When I was little he used to take me fishing and we entered many fishing contests. We went to “the club” several times a week to get our Shirley Temples and hang out to watch the boats.
Our frequent road trips to Florida were always a highlight of my summers.
My greatest joy was to see Apa and my daughter,Taelyn, together. They were best buddies. She quickly replaced me in the Florida trips.
I’ll miss you and will always love you.

Apa was such a wonderful and funny man. We shared such a special bond and I will always hold that close to my heart. I will cherish all of the many memories that we have shared together. I was best friends with Gary, Mr Wargo’s son. Baseball was always on their TV. Fishing every weekend. A wonderfull trip to New Jersey. Great times. God Bless you MR Wargo.

A memory of grandpa is being a child and eating pickled herring and crackers a tradition kept through the years at Christmas and the pickled green tomatoes from the garden.
I am so glad that we got to spend time with you when you came to CT in June and that you met Zach.
