Joyce Flowers-Hunt, 81, passed into the Lord’s hands on January 9, 2008 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on September 3, 1926 in Belton, KY where she spent her youth.
She graduated from Hughskirk High School and Western Kentucky University, and was a proofreader for Methodist Publishing House in Nashville and traveled much of the world as an Air Force wife inspiring her to cook many exotic dishes.
Like her Mother, Joyce enjoyed the beauty of raising roses. She made her St. Petersburg her home in 1967 where she raised her three children.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Charles Hunt; sister, Jamie Monafo; children: Don Dixon, George Laurie Dixon, and Lisa Jack Hartmann; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Joyce was a member of Northwest Presbyterian Church, where her memorial will be held Saturday, January 12th at 11am. The church address is 6330 54th Avenue N., St. Petersburg 33709. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the church in Joyce’s memory.
