James E. “Bootsie” Hendricks, 75, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away at the Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, FL on August 16, 2008 from natural causes.
Bootsie funeral will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, VA 23234. Burial will follow the service at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery, Mosley, VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 21, 2008 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. There was an additional service at the Bible Baptist Church, 280 Riviere Road, Palm Harbor, FL 33683 at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
Bootsie was a native of Richmond, VA and a local Palm Harbor, FL resident since 2001, when he moved here from Richmond; he was a body shop manager and painter for automotive dealer Max Pearson and Bill Talley Ford; a member of Bible Baptist Church in Palm Harbor, FL; a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War; a member of the American Legion, AARP, a avid fan of NASCAR and had built racecars for Bobby Allison, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hendricks of Palm Harbor, FL: a son, Kenneth Hendricks and his wife, Alison of Richmond, VA; three daughters: Wanda Saddler and her husband, Norman; Robyn Hendricks and Mary Alice Saddler and her husband, Charlie, all of Richmond, VA; a brother, Richard Hendricks of Powhatan, VA and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. .
