Veterans Funeral Care Edward Sloan

SSGT Edward A. Sloan, 74, USAF- Retired, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on September 26, 2008 at the Westchester Gardens Rehab and Care Center, Clearwater, FL from natural causes.

A native of Waltham, MA and first moved to the local area in 1973, from Griffis AFB, Rome, NY; he was a photographer and after moving to the area, he worked for Pinellas County Utility Department. A Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus Edward was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Loretta Sloan of Palm Harbor, FL; two daughters: Teresa M. Sloan of Largo, FL and Dorothy J. Kearns and her husband, Chuck of Safety Harbor, FL; a brother, James F. Sloan of Pahrump, NV and three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation is 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Philippe Parkway, Safety Harbor, FL 34695 with a Mass at 11:00 AM following the visitation with Father Robert Cedrecha officiating. Full military honors are 2:30 PM, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513with Father Peter A. Sagorski and the United States Air Force Military Honors Funeral Team officiating.
