John H. Miller Jr., 86, of Safety Harbor, FL passed away at the Manor Care Nursing Home, Palm Harbor, FL on November 4, 2008 from natural causes. He was born in Waterford, PA on May 4, 1922 and was the son of the late John H, Miller and Helen Williams Miller. John was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Erie, PA and he worked for 45 years at the Keystone Brass Company as the plant manager and he served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a life member of the Sunflower Club and also a member of the Seibengurger Club and the American Legion Post # 773. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and bowled in the "Grandpa’s’ Bowling League". He also enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gay Lynn Miller and a grandson, Richard Miller; a brother, Theodore Miller and four sisters: Helen Smithline, Jenny Skelly, Ruth Lyons and Caroline Swab. John is survived by his wife, Muriel (Lindsay) Miller of Safety Harbor, FL; a daughter, Shirley Miller of Jamestown, NY; and two sons: Raymond Miller and his wife, Donna of Safety Harbor, FL and Robert Miller of Erie, PA; a brother, Carl Miller of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters: Thora Funciello of Erie, PA and June Mack of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons, Raymond Miler of Georgia and Russell Miller of Florida; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services are 2:15 Pm, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33504 with VFW Post 9272, officiating.
