Melvin Lionel Plugh, 85, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 10, at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL. He was born on April 8, 1924 in Lakeland, FL, and returned to Florida in 1984 from Toledo, OH.
He served his country during World War II in the US Army. Following World War II, he spent many years working in the construction industry as a carpenter and a painter. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen Plugh.
Services will be held on Friday, May 15, at the Sarasota National Cemetery located at 9810 State Highway 72 in Sarasota, FL. Services will be officiated by Bishop Daniel Russell with a presentation of the American Flag and taps following the service.
