John C. Russell, 54, PFC-USMC-Vietnam War Veteran of Kenneth City, FL died peacefully at his home on May 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
His services are 1:30 PM, Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Bay Pines VA National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744 with VFW Post 9272, to officiate.
A native of Cleveland, OH, John moved here in 1957 and resided locally ever since. During the Vietnam War Era, he served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.He was a electronics technician by trade but his love for music fueled the start of his company, All Pro DJ, which became instrumental in his fund raising efforts with All Childrens Hospital. He was a humble and caring person who loved helping children. John loved the Christmas Season as he transformed his home every year into a winter wonderland for all to enjoy. John carried the spirit of the holiday in his heart all year long.
Preceded in death by his parents, John is survived by his companion and care giver, Anna Marie Wilson of Kenneth City, FL; a daughter, Heather Marie Russell of Pinellas Park, FL; two brothers, Victor Russell and his wife, Wanda of St. Petersburg, FL and Al Russell of Tampa, FL and a grandchild, Kaleb Perez of Pinellas Park, FL.

I will miss John on friday’s Never a friday went by without John walking in to his Dr’s office and telling us how many days until christmas. John, you will be missed.
