Juanita Jones, 90, died June 9, 2009 in St. Petersburg, FL at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Hartford, Kentucky but lived almost her entire life in Evansville, graduating from Central High School in 1937 and then Lockyear’s Business College. She was a member of Old North Methodist and Northside Congregational churches.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, W. Edwin Jones, who was an executive at Red Spot Paint and Varnish Co., as well as her daughter, Laurel Ann Ritchie, who was a Physical Therapist at ProRehab. She is survived by her children, Jeffery Jones in Louisville, KY, Sidney Geier in Raleigh, NC, and Deborah Grassman in St. Petersburg, FL. She has 8 grandchildren, with 3 living in Evansville: Teresa Lovelace, Ben and Hannah Ritchie. She has 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Viewing will be Tuesday, June 16 from 4-8PM at Alexander’s North Chapel. A service celebrating her life will be held June 17 at 1PM. The burial service will follow at ALEXANDER MEMORIAL PARK Cemetery.
