Manuel Vasquez, 85, of Largo, passed away on August 18, 2009. He was born on December 30, 1923 in Tampa, and served his country as a helmsman for the Navy during World War II. Manuel spent most of his adult life in Oregon, and then eight years ago, returned to Florida with his wife, Rosanna, making their home in Largo. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and was loved by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanna: three daughters: Connie (Earl) Koeneman, Kathy Pattee, and Nancy (Jim) Cavanaugh; two sons: John Vasquez and Paul (Suzanne) Vasquez; his sister, Florence (Arthur) Piercey; sister-in-law, Amy Vasquez; two stepchildren: Patrick (Sue) Ferre and Josiane (Mike) Martucci; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers Guy and Albert.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 28 at 12:45 from Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
