Leo Skeens, 81, of Trinity, FL funeral services are 11:30 AM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 with the United States Navy Military Honors Team from Jacksonville, FL and the Marion County Military Honors Funeral Team with Captain Art Nave, the commander to officiate. Leo passed away on November 2, 2009 at the Lakeshore Villas Nursing Home in Tampa, FL from natural causes. A native of Marmet, WVA and a Florida resident since 1972, and a local resident when he moved to Trinity from Lakelnad, FL in 2002. Leo was a retired Manager for General Motors; a Protestant and a US Navy Veteran serving as an S1C during World War II. Predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Pansy Skeens, he is survived by his wife; Martha Skeens of Trinity, FL; three sons; Dr. Joseph Skeens and his wife, Janet of Hurricane, WVA; David Skeens of Cincinnati, OH and Daryl Skeens and his wife, Vickie of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Janet Perry and her husband, James and Ravenna Goplin and her husband, Glenn; a step-daughter Margaret, a grandson, Daryl Lee Skeens and three great-grandchildren.

I am so sorry to hear of leo’s death. I have known of leo for a few years now. I have been doing some research. My grandfather was Bernard T Skeens. My Father is Bernard T Skeens Jr. Leo and him would have been half brothers, it is a shame they never got a chance to meet. My thoughts are with you. I lost my mother a year and a half ago and I know it is still tough. So any thing you need I am here.
