The Lutz Patriots of Lutz, Florida send our deepest sympathies in the loss of Mr. Cowart. Every Friday in our hometown, we wave American flags to honor such heroes. His service to our Country will be forever appreciated.
Wallace Cowart joined the United States Navy in March,1964. He received orders for Viet Nam in 1965. Since he didn’t want to go to VietNam, he claimed he had bad nerves and requested a discharge. His request was granted after spending just a liile over a year in the Navy. It is very unfair to give credit to a person who schemed and lied to get out of service to our country while others served dutifully and then was spit upon when returning home. Many did not get to come home.
