Robert E. Hatfield, 61, SP4, US Army-Vietnam War Veteran of Lakeland, FL funeral services are 2:30 PM, Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 with Pastor Joe Bowles and the United States Army Military Funeral Honors Team, to officiate. Robert died at the James A. Haley VA Medical Center, Tampa, FL on December 2, 2009 from natural causes. A native of Roseann, VA and a local resident since 1986, when he moved here from Newtown, WVA, he was a carpenter, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City, FL and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. During his military service, he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, A National Defense Service Medal and he was an awarded a Sharpshooter M-14 Badge. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Lakeland, FL; two sons: Brian Dunlap and his wife, Cathy of ST Petersburg, FL and Eldon Hatfield of Lakeland, FL; a daughter, Regina Larocque and her husband, Richard of Cadillac, MI; four brothers: Frankie Hatfield and his wife, JJ of Sunberry, OH, Billy Hatfield and his wife, Anna of Abbeville, SC, Willard Hatfield and Kenneth Hatfield and his wife, Grace, all of Chillicothe, OH, a sister, Jenny Siewert of Frostproof, FL and eight grandchildren.

Robert will be greatly missed. He had a smile and a laugh that could lighten the room.
Robert was a great brother that will never be forgotten. We have childhood stories that will always be remembered. Most of all i will miss his jokes and sense of humor but i always knew he was there no matter what.

Uncle Robert had the heart of gold. He was full of life and laughter. He will be greatly missed.
