Trygve R. Rod of Largo, Florida passed into eternity Jan 12, 2010.
He was born in Gardner, Mass. on March 21, 1927. He served in the Navy in the pacific theatre during WWII and the Korean conflict. He resided in Washington State, California, Chicago, IL (where he taught for a time at Great Lakes), Greenville, S.C. and Wilmington, NC before moving to Oak Manor Senior Living community here in Florida. He was a Mechanical engineer , inventor and an amateur artist.
“Rod” will be greatly missed by his Sons Robert (Doreen) of Seminole, Florida and Dennis Lane,(Marianna) of Wilmington, N.C. , 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his dear sister Shirley of McMinnville, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, brother Ernest and sister Phyrne.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, January 30th at 11 AM at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida where he will be interred.
