IN LOVING MEMORY AND HONOR OF MSgt. Glyn Edward Avery, USAF Ret.
Born June 25th, 1931 – Passed away January 24th, 2010
Loving, caring, respectful, honest, brave and loyal to his Country, family, friends and God
He served his country honorably for 23 years during the Korean conflict as well as in Vietnam and in peace time, he then went on to serve his country for an additional 21 years working for the Veteran’s Administration; a true American patriot and Hero.
He was a loving and honorable son; he was a loving, caring, gentle and attentive husband, a good provider, a strict, but wise and loving father and grandfather. He was the best, most honest friend any man could ask for, as can be attested to by his many close friends.
He was preceded in death first by his eldest son, Kenneth G. Avery, his only daughter, Kim R. (Fluffy) Avery, his most beloved wife, friend, confidante, soul mate and companion of 38 years Martha L. Avery, and finally his 26 year old granddaughter Erica N. Avery.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Keith E. Avery, Eric P. Avery and Richard S. Avery, his wife Mary Avery, and their four remaining children, Stephanie, Ryan, Justin and Todd;
Step son, James S. Phillabaum and wife Regina, their two sons, Christopher and Nicholas;
Step Daughter, Sheri L. Phillabaum and husband Roy, their two sons, Jacob and Clifton;
And entirely too many friends to mention but you know who you are.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors presented by MacDill Air Force Base will held on Wed. Feb.10th at 1:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell for both Glyn Edward Avery and wife Martha Lou Avery; 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell 33513.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Life Path Hospice.

I love and miss you very much Dad, I don’t know if I can make it anymore, the fear of you being angry with me or disapointed in me made me try so hard at everything I did, but now I don’t know if I can do it anymore. Please hear me Dad and please help me. I Love you so much!!! Scott
Our sincere sympathies to the family. We have known (our dear friends) Martha and Glyn for over 35 years— and loved them both. We will always cherish our great times we spent together. You both will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace, our beloved friends.
I worked with Glyn at the VA until I retired in 1997. He was the most honest and helpful individual there. He was also very “hard nosed” ha ha. We became good friends over the years, along with our good friend Oscar. Glyn would help you in any way he could. Please accept my sympathy for his passing. We certainly have lost a good person as I did when my husband passed in 2008. May God bless the members of his family and please rely on the Lord to help you through this period of great loss.
Our deepest sympathy for the Avery and Phillabum families. My prayers are with all of you.
I know my father Oscar Franco worked with him at the Veteran’s Administation together and they were good friends.
