Pedro Otero-Padilla, 68, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away February 14, 2010. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 23, 1941 and moved to New York City at an early age. “Pete”, as most would address him, is a proud military veteran who entered the US Army in 1961 and discharged in 1965. He attained the rank of Specialist (E-4) while on active duty and aside from entering the service from Brooklyn, New York City; was also stationed in Missouri, Kentucky, and overseas in Mannheim, Germany. He is survived by his three daughters Bernice, Anita, and Priscilla; his four grandchildren Keely, Remi, Samantha, and Richey all of New York City. Along side his children and grandchildren he lives on through his brothers and sisters; Mario-Spring Hill, Eduardo-NYC, Genoveva-Puerto Rico, Nereida-NYC, Esther-Spring Hill, and Evelina-Spring Hill. Regardless of whether he met them in church or the Pickled Parrot, his essence will persevere in the many hearts and minds of countless friends too numerous to mention or give proper acknowledgement here. Services are scheduled from Family First Assembly Church in Spring Hill on Friday, February 19, 2010 with military honors to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
