George S. Zink Sr., 85, of Perry Hall, MD died on Feb. 28, 2010 at Bay Pines VA Health Care System, Bay Pines, FL.
Son of the late Charles and Livinia Zink, he was born in Baltimore/Fullerton, MD. He owned his own dry cleaning business for many years and, later, sold and fitted hearing aids for over 20 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Zink (nee Kling) and brother, Charles. Survivors include his five daughters: Shirley Suggs, Winnie Brugman, Jean Dempster, Barbara Wagner, and Mary Zink-Lynch; son, George Zink, Jr.; sisters: Anna Mae Woytowitz, Lois Hewes, Janice Likens, and Cleo Sarff; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family will be on Monday, March 8th from 2-4 & 6-8PM at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Road, Baltimore MD 21236, (410) 256-3600. A Funeral Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at 9:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 8420 Belair Road, Fullerton, MD followed by interment in the church cemetery.
