Thomas L. “Tommy” Jernigan, 60, of Tampa, FL funeral service is 7:30 PM, Monday evening, March 29, 2010 at East Thonotosassa Baptist Church, 12735 Knights Griffin Road, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 with Pastor Jim Brady, to officiate. The family will receive friend at the church from 6:00 PM until service time.
A Wauchula, FL native and live long area resident, Tommy was a retired check sorter for Bank of America and a member of East Thonotosassa Baptist Church.
Tommy is survived by his loving family; his wife of 31 years, Frankie Jernigan of Tampa, FL; a son, Anthony Jernigan and his wife, Cyndee of Plant City, FL; a daughter, Rebecca Jernigan of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Jimmy Jernigan and his wife, Barbara of Wauchula, FL and Steve Jernigan and his wife, Jean of Wauchula, FL and a grandson, Nathan Jernigan of Plant City, FL.

I can still picture you sitting on the couch at Aunt Terry’s house, napping after a good Thanksgiving dinner. You just looked so comfortable and at peace. I know the last few years have been painful for you. But, I know now in my heart your sitting on God’s couch now taking a nap, comfortable and at peace. Love you Uncle Tommy. Save me a seat.

I remember from when i was a kid watching you at Lebannon Church in the choir with Mom & helping with my sunday school class. Those memories will never fade.
