Dear Dad, God has taken you to his home for a reason. It’s going to be so hard to let go but I know your at peace now.You were a wonderful Father and Grandfather and will be greatly missed.You will always be forever in our hearts. We will cherish all of the fond memories that we shared together. We all love you very much. As you watch over us, keep us in your loving arms.You need to watch over Mom from your side, and we will watch over her for you from ours.You showed us how much love you had for all of us until the end.You made us proud Dad. Until we meet again,Rest in peace Dad. Love always from your daughter,Lorraine [Lala}
The hardest thing to do is let someone you love so much go-I’m happy you’re at peace and resting with God now Pop, but not one day will go by without me missing you. Some of the best memories I have growing up are from spending holidays and birthdays with you. You made it so that all us grandkids had so much fun..but we knew once poppy gave that look from across the diningroom table to be quiet and eat our veggies!:)
Plus I’ll never forget the days I stayed home “sick” from school and got to hang out all day with you and watch the soaps! We’re so proud of you and we’ll never forget all that you’ve done for us. You’ll always be in my heart Pop and I will always love you.
<3 Love always, Dawnmarie
Dear Dad, We all grieve in our own way. We all heal in our own time. We all remember in our own hearts. There’s peace in the promise that life is everlasting. I will miss you. your loving daughter. Deb.
Jim, God took you from us after you told all of us from your heart how much you loved us. You also told Jim that you would miss him. Well we are missing you and our hearts are aching so. I know your pain and suffering is over. You are now at peace in God’s home. I will remember the good times we had together. Jim you were a great husband Loving Dad and the best grandfather (poppie). Someday I will join you in that great sea. Together again we will be.Love ya Edith (Mom)
Dear Family, Aunt Edith and children, grandchildren, we are very sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Jimmy, and wish we could be there to console you. We will be praying for his repose and having a Mass said for him, the picture was very nice to receive, he looks just like I remembered… a very happy man with a great laugh who loved to dunk his bagels and butter in the morning. God Bless you, Uncle Jim. Christine
Hey Pop, I have to first say that I am very proud to be your grandson. Not many people have a grandparent who served this country the way you did. And even though you weren’t in the best of conditions when I saw you, I still saw that strong, proud man who told me stories about when he was in the war and took me fishing and crabbing at five in the morning. I still have those crab traps you gave me before you moved down to Florida. Pop, you’ll always have a place in my heart as that strong and proud man. I’ll never forget you. See you again. Love, Mitch
Jimmy and I were leaving your hospital room late one afternoon when you looked at us, and with a gentle smile you said, “I love you guys.” Well, we love you too! The last time I saw you I leaned over your bed and said goodbye and told you to be strong. You slowly reached out your hand to me and I felt the strength of your grasp. It reminded me of the many stories that Jimmy had told me about your physical and emotional fortitude. You will be missed.
to Mrs. Lohlein, Jimmy, Lorraine, Mitch,Debbie, and all the grand kids, please accept our deepest sympathies on your loss.
We have a lot of good memories at your home. For me, the New Years Eve parties in the basement stand out. The fourth of july parties, the delicious weak fish that Mr. L. caught! And, of course, Jack and I met (set up?) in your kitchen. Loraine was giving Jack a hair cut in the kitchen when I arrived. He was wearing his freckles shirt. Met Artie too that night, with pink curlers in his hair. It was just before Christmas and I can remember Mr. L. asking Jack if he was going to have matzo balls or meatballs for Christmas! Got our first dog as a married couple too at your house, Buster, one of the ones that Debbie cared for from the pound. Lots of good memories there. The door was always open.
Mr. Lohlein will surely be missed, he was larger then life! I hoped some one warned St. Peter!
Love,
Chris
ps Jack will be sending his own special message in a few days.
Dear Edith, On behalf of all of St. Andrew’s Church–members, staff, vestry and clergy– please accept my deepest sympathy. May God hold you and all your family in strong arms of love during this difficult time. In God’s love, Pastor Shanda Mahurin, Rector
