I miss you so much, Pop. You mean the world to me, so caring and generous. I can’t help but feel that I wish you were still here with us.
This poem made me think of you, and I will be reading it at your funeral:
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.
I love you, Pop. Always and forever.
Lisa may God be with you and your family during this time of sorrow. A father and a friend is a very special thing. Hold on to your memories and keep him close to your heart. He’s now a beautiful flower in Gods most perfect garden
I will always remember what a nice person he was. I’m sure you are all very proud of his life and what he did for our country. Love and prayers, Marybelle

I will miss you Pop, Pop! You were not only my Pop, you were my best friend! I will never forget all of those talks we had throughout the years. I thank you for teaching me patience, and how to be a real father. I will remember all of those trips to the flea market, and the thrift stores.
I will always love you!
Captain Rubio this is Rock 7 signing “OUT”
I’ll miss you big brother!
I know you’re probably taking mom to that big bingo palace in the sky, or having another cup of coffee with Wally talking about grandchildren. I take comfort knowing that God has you in his hands and that we all have another angel watching over us.
If ever there was anyone who deserved to go to heaven it would be my beloved brother Frank. I take comfort in knowing that he’ll be waiting to guide me there as I stumble (stagger ??) on the journey. Asta la vista big Bro. I await the everlasting re-union.
This is also to thank my sister Linda without whose help, I would not have arrived in Brooksville on time. In any case, I would have walked from Seattle to Brooksville if I had to.
I believe I server under Capt. Rubio in 1969 in Cam Ranh Bay (HHC 1st.Log. Republic of Vietnam in 1969. He was a Kind and understanding officer. May he rest in peace.
