Raymond C. Philopena, Jr., 63, of Lutz, died on Sunday, August 15, at St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz, FL. He was born in New London, CT and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1997 from Virginia.
He served his country in the US Army and worked for TWA as a Ramp Supervisor for over forty years.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; sons, Nick Philopena of Manassas, VA, Ryan Olund of Boulder, CO and Casey Kleinschmidt of Merrill, WI; brothers, Bob and Richard Philopena of CT; sisters, Patricia and Ann; and grandson, Tyler.
Services were held on Saturday, August 21, at the River of Life Church in Lutz. His final resting spot will be Florida National Cemetery.
