Richard E. "Dick" Powell, 93, of West View, Pennsylvania Died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Beloved husband for 67 years of Helen Marie (Viehbeck) Powell; father of Carol (Art) Garside, Linda (Michael) Irving and the late Richard E. Powell, Jr.; father-in-law of Melanie Ross; brother-in-law of Dorothy Puglin. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at St. Athanasius Church. Dick was Mayor of West View for 37 years, West View Boro Council for 8 years, member of Teamsters Union #249 ( Past Steward for 7 years), WWII Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient and member of VFW Post #2754 of West View, West View Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to St. Athanasius Church, 7 Chalfonte Ave., West View 15229 or Hospice.
