Bertha Jean Holcomb, 88, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on January 5, 2011 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida. She was born on July 29, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Guy R. and Arva Barbara Billman Hunt. Bertha made her home and attended schools in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio before enlisting in the Womens Air Corps during World War II. Following her military service, Bertha returned to Ohio where she married Donald C. Holcomb and raised her family.
Bertha is survived by her daughter, Patricia Howdyshell, of Clearwater, FL; her sons: Ronald Holcomb of Palm Harbor, FL and Donald Holcomb of Cleveland, OH; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Military honors are scheduled for Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:30pm.
