Jose B. Sibayan Sr., 92, of Tampa, Florida funeral service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St Paul Catholic Church, 12708 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida 33618. Graveside service are 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Garden of Memories Cemeteries, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33605 with graveside military honors services by the US Army Honors Team.
A native of Bangued Abra, Philippines and a local resident since 1974, Jose was a retired lawyer, a member of St Paul Catholic Church and a US Army Veteran serving as a member of the Philippines Commonwealth Army. During his military career, he was the “Right Hand Man” of General McArthur; a survivor the “Bataan Death March” and the founder of the Philippines American Association in Tampa, Florida.
Jose is survived by his loving family: four sons: Antonio Sibayan and his wife, Norma of the Philippines; Ernesto Sibayan and his wife, Josefina of Chicago, IL; Roberto Sibayan and his wife, Cheryl of Lutz, FL and Jose B. Sibayan Jr. and his wife, Lorrie of Lutz, FL; three daughters: Liberty Sibayan Galloway and her husband, William of Clearwater, FL; Aurora Sibayan Curioso and her husband, Rudy of Brandon, FL and Jocelyn Sibayan Lontok and her husband, Luis of Tampa, FL; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
