Veterans Funeral Care Warren Carlough

Warren N. Carlough, 83, died on February 3, 2011 at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida with Alida (Alice) and family by his side. He was born in the Bronx, NY and served his country in the Navy during World War II, and then served in the Air Force where he was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. Warren then moved across the bay to Clearwater, Florida where he was employed as a Clearwater Firefighter before retiring.

Warren was a 32nd Degree Mason and Egypt Temple Shriner. He was Past Commander and Lifetime Member of the American Legion Post 7, Clearwater and a Lifetime Member of the V.F.W. Post 10094, Indian Rocks Beach. Warren and sister and brothers started the "Carlough Clan" family reunion that has met every two years for the past fifty years. He left us with many wonderful memories and never met a stranger. Warren touched many lives and will be missed by those who were fortunate to have his friendship.

Warren is survived by his partner and best friend of thirty years, Alida. He is also survived by his two daughters from a previous marriage: Nancy (Carlough) Benchoff of Clearwater, FL and Linda (Carlough) Podgurski of Mechanicsburg, PA; three grandchildren: Sara, Drew, and Molly; his step-daughter Denise Garrison of Stanhope, NJ and her two children, Stephanie and Matthew; his three brothers: Herbert Carlough of Boston, MA, Robert Carlough of Concord, NC, and Howard Spencer Carlough of Greenville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Grace Korthaus, and a brother, Thornton Carlough.
