Norma Jean Messenger, 80, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2011. She passed at home with her children and grandchildren at her side. She was born in LaGrange, Georgia on January 4, 1931.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard A. Messenger. She is survived by four loving children: John D. Messenger, Norma E. Newcomer and husband, Lawrence, Patricia L. Tomko and Katherine R. Vuillemot; nine grandchildren: Robert J. Messenger, Tracy A. Messenger, Katherine J. Stevens, Nettie L. Newcomer, Rebecca E. Newcomer, Matthew R. Newcomer, Angela D. Gyger, Joseph L. Tomko and Christina J. Vuillemot; and eleven great-grandchildren; Anthony, Mya, John Jr., Jordyn, Amanda , Jordan, Sydney, Maddison, Katie, Emily and Sara.
She was a very loving and caring mother with a talent for poetry. She would write of any and all situations, funny or sad. Her quick wit would send everyone into laughter. Her presence was a source of happiness with all who knew her. She is with our Father in Heaven and watching over us left behind. She will be greatly missed.
We will have a gathering at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, Maryland in April 8, 2011 at 10:45.
I didnt know you, but if your grand-daughter, Angie, is anything like you I know you were an awesome lady. My prayers go out to the family.
