Arthur Nelson Burchett, age 89, of Largo, Florida, departed this life April 19, 2011 at 8:00am.
He was born February 13, 1922 at Barlow, Ohio, a son of Arthur L. Burchett and Margie E. Lynch who resided at Fleming, Ohio. Graduated from South Zanesville High School May 2, 1940 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy June 1942 during World War II and was Honorably discharged December 8, 1945 as a Specialist Control Tower Operator. On June 22, 1943, he married Mildred Elva Wilhite in Pensacola, Florida, wife of 67 yrs. He was a truck driver and later worked at Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, WV. He worked as a furnace operator from April 19, 1958 until he retired in February 28, 1983 and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. He enjoyed basketball, golf, baseball, and playing the guitar and harmonica. Arthur won many trophies for his horseshoe playing. Scrabble, poker, and crazy eights were his favorite games. He and his wife raised six children and he will be forever missed.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Elva Burchett, sons; Rodney Burchett of Ashville, NC and Douglas Burchett, of Columbia, SC, daughters; Rebecca McCue of Belpre, OH and Denise Poling of Largo, FL, sisters; Alice Rummer of Zanesville, OH, Edna Rose Burchett of Zanesville, OH, and June Lent of Pennsylvania, brothers; Charles Burchett of Zanesville, OH and Joseph Burchett of Dover, DL; grandchildren; Mathew Burchett and Paula Bradley, NC, Sidney Wetherall, FL, Tina Baldwin, WV, Heather Burchett and Stephanie Burchett, SC, Gary McCue, WV, Russell McCue, NC, Sida Hyde and Erica Poling, FL, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Wetherall, son Stephan Burchett, and grandchild Craig Burchett, parents Arthur Love Burchett and Margie Lynch Burchett, brothers James Burchett, Leslie Burchett, and Earnest Burchett, sisters Mary Sees and Margaret Revennaugh.
Memorial Services will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Bvld, St. Petersburg, FL on April 23, 2011 at 10am.

Uncle Nelson was a fun uncle, and I will never forget the Monoploly games, camping trips, swimming & fishing. Staying with the Burchetts were the best times in my life. I will never forget you Uncle Nelson. Love & Prayers to Aunt Millie, and all of my cousins.
