Jean W. Northen, 64, of Largo, FL funeral service is 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 1st Baptist Church of Indian Rocks (Main Building), Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33770. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until service time. The burial will take place at 3:30 PM at Serenity Gardens, Largo, Florida.
A native of Kingston, Jamaica and a local resident since 1980, when she and her husband moved here from Haiti. Jean was a nurse for IMF and after locating to Pinellas County, she then worked as a nurse for Pinellas County. Jean was born on July 30, 1946 and passed away at the Largo Medical Center, Largo Florida on May 6, 2011. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and was very active in all church activities.
Preceded in death in 2006 by her husband, Thomas Northen; her parents; Gilbert and Mary Wong Chew Fook, brother, Eric ; Bother, Charlie and brother, George, she is survived by her loving family: a son Paul Northen of Bear, DE; her daughters: Linda Brown of Clifton Park, NY and Bonnie Rutherford and her husband Mark, of Canton, MI; her seven grandchildren: Lauren Rutkoski and her husband, John; Zachary Northen and his wife, Jessie; Bethany Brown, David Brown and his wife, Erin; Christina Brown, Katelyn Rutherford and Andrew Rutherford and two great grandchildren: Jonah Rutkoski and Naomi Northen and her brothers and sisters: sister, Mavis Yap; brother, Bertie; sister, Susie Lyew Chong; sister, Jen Lim Sang; sister, Marjorie Sobers; brother, Wilton and a sister, Gladys Sarabia-Wong.
