Steve was a unique and wonderful person.I can still see him at the wellswood little field wearing his 7 Up uniform on a sat morning so many years ago.He will be missed greatly.Love to the Colson family.
I have so many memories,Steve @ family eating clams, sitting on his knee so my dress wouldn’t get dirty, the parties. We have always appreciated the way the Colson and Bingham families, graciously included us as friends of the family.
Steve will always be remembered.Love Karl and Eva Schutte
Steve,
A neighbor on Beacon, a classmate and a friend. I’m glad we had a chance to catch up (after many years) in the waiting room at St. Joseph’s when our parents were in the hospital at the same time. We’ll miss you at our class reunions, but the memories will remain.
Our office is deeply by Steve’s passing. Anyone who ever had the privelege of spending time with Steve was gifted with a positive moment.
He was a friend to anyone and everyone instantly.
Our deepest condolences to Steve’s family and friends.
Scott Nelson
My sincere sympathy to Kay, Phyllis(Sunny) and the entire family on Steve’s passing.
Before the age of BFF’s, Steve and I were that during the summers, playing baseball, fishing for garfish and driving around in the ’49 Ford.!!
I remember when Steve hit the winning home run in the 1st Pony League championship game in Marietta, GA. in 1963.
Whatever we did, it was always fun and I think that defined Steve.
Best wishes to all.
Mike
Heaven will have a free spirited rider of the wind.
Good memories of great talks
and a good friendship.
My deepest sympathy to the
family for such a loss.
Steve, I can’t believe your gone. Thank You for all the great memories (Corvair, Chevelle, Charger, Corvette, ect. Any man was very Lucky to have had you for their friend. I’ll never drive down Beacon without thinking of you.
To the Family of Steve, I wish to extend my deepest condolences for your loss. Steve was a good friend and fellow team mate. Baseball seemed to be our common denominator and I’m extremely proud to have played along side of Steve. We’ll always be State Champions and you’ll be a real champion in my heart. Miss you Steve.
I will always remember Steve as the best “bad ball” hitter I ever saw. In the semi-final of the 1967 State Baseball Championship, I saw Steve take a “bad ball” and put it out of Tinker Field! What a shot. It was good to see Steve at our last reunion. Enjoy the ride in Heaven.
My deepest sympathy to all family and friends. My heart cries knowing I will not see his smile, hear his voice or feel his handshake. We go back many wonderful years from elementary school to HHS graduation. Baseball was the glue that bound us and our families together, and it still does. The memory of his homerun against Hialeah in the state tournament is so vivid as if it happened yesterday. Steve Colson, my friend, playing left field on a chopper.
May the Lord’s hand comfort us in our grief
Kay,Iam very sorry for your loss.It was a privilege to have been friends with your brother. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
To Steve’s family I wish to express my condolences, praying that all would receive comforting that only God can provide. There are so many fond memories not the least of which is times we met at Steve’s house before the Fresh Ups games. Steve’s mom was so gracious to prepare the good luck, pre-game, grilled cheese sandwiches before we headed to the games. You will be missed my friend.
Although I did not have the opportunity to get to know Steve very well, I will miss his open friendly smile, easy acceptance of new friends and his passion for life. The Jenna Stone Band is honored to have been asked to perform at the celebration of his life. Thank you for allowing us to honor and remember him with you.
Jenna, Lonnie, Kevin and Will
Sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. He helped us with a house moving project in Lutz 20+ years ago and we really appreciated his help and enjoyed the fun with him and his crew.
My most sincerest to the Colson family. I worked with Steve at Morgan Street in the ROR Unit and again at the Work Release Center. He was such a joy to work with; laughs every day. We kept in contact sporadically and I just can’t believe he’s gone. My heart breaks for all of you.
I came to know Steve while working with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, but most recently when he and my mother-in-law started see one another. She was happy when they were sharing time together. Making Galilee smile and happy meant alot to our family.
