Henry Jefferson Dove, 69, of Tampa, Florida, died on August 2, 2011, with his daughter by his side. Henry was born May 31, 1942, in Princeton, West Virginia and died at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Florida.
Henry was raised in Wilmington, Delaware and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 24, serving his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from war, Henry worked as a General Manager in the corrugated industry. He retired in 1995 and moved to Tampa, Florida, to spend his days in the warmth and sunshine! Henry was an active community member at John Knox Village and enjoyed playing poker and long conversations with close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Dove, mother, Lucille Dove and brother, Fred Dove, Jr. He will be forever loved and missed by his son, Michael of Elkton, MD, daughter, Jen and grandson, Jacob, both formerly of Tampa, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Vietnam Veterans of America.
