One of Tampa Bays most loved funeral directors, “Cookie” Roel has joined our team as a senior staff member. Born in Ybor City, Cookie went to Jefferson High and graduated from Hillsborough High School, Class of 1963. He later graduated with his degree in Funeral Service from Miami Dade Junior College, Class of 1966.
Cookie worked for AP Boza Funeral Home for many years, starting at 16 years of age. He served in the Army and qualified for OCS. In 1975 Cookie and Mark Curry started Roel & Curry Funeral Home on Armenia Avenue. Cookie retired and sold the business in 1995. We were able to “coax” him out of retirement and he has been great help assisting on funerals and coaching young staff members. Welcome Cookie Roel!
