Andrew and Elizabeth Loos founded Heartland Cremation & Burial Society in 2001 to meet the demanding need in the Kansas City metro for low-cost, worry-free cremation alternatives to the high price of local funeral homes. Their four generations in the business provided the expertise — along with a passion for the families they serve — to deliver the most respectful, yet affordable, services to their family, friends, and neighbors.
The name says it all — based in the heartland, their home office in Raytown serves surrounding metro area communities — from towns like Belton, Grandview, and Raymore in the south; to the city central and suburbs, like Blue Springs, Independence, and Lee’s Summit; all the way to areas in the Northland, including Gladstone, Liberty, Parkville, and Platte City.
They were quickly bombarded with requests for their value-conscious services from all over Missouri and Kansas. So, in 2004, they expanded to a convenient Cremation Arrangement Center in Overland Park, Kansas. This made Heartland the first Cremation Society licensed to offer services in both Missouri and Kansas. The surrounding communities of Leawood, Lenexa, Olathe, Prairie Village, Roeland Park, and Shawnee have all welcomed the addition of their Cremation Arrangement Center.
To better serve the needs of central Missouri families, in 2006, Joe and Rachel Kinney established the central Missouri office of Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, with locations in Columbia and Jefferson City, to service the surrounding areas.
Heartland’s proprietors and staff are particularly proud to serve local veterans by providing special services for veterans’ cremations and funerals. Heartland’s high-trained staff works diligently to honor veterans by procuring all earned benefits. Coordinating with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Heartland completes all necessary Veterans Administration paperwork to secure military honors and burial or entombment in a National Cemetery or the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Whether your family wishes include a full funeral, a viewing, memorial services, or a simple, direct cremation, Heartland Cremation & Burial Society’s services require no pre-payment, registration, or membership fee. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week when your family has a need.
