Cassandra Mitzelfeld is a Florida native and a family-oriented funeral director with a passion for helping others. She grew up in admiration of her grandfather that escaped Russian during times of economic hardship, before he took up residence in Long Island, NY and served in the United States Army during WWII.
Cassandra was born on her grandmother’s birthday after her parents moved to Southwest Florida together, this led to many lengthy trips up and down the East Coast. Her childhood was spent learning everything she could from her grandmother before she passed away. “From cooking to sewing, and living off the land, I teach what my ancestors have taught me to my children as well. Even though they are no longer with me, our family traditions, lessons, recipes, and memories are carried down for many generations to come. That is something that can never be taken away.”
Cassandra hopes she can help the families she serves see that in all the pain we wish not to feel, we find Love is at the root of it all and it is a privilege to care so much about another that even the happiest memories can bring us to tears.
“ I am very thankful that my grandmother was blessed with meeting one of her great-grandchildren before cancer claimed her life, even though, to me she was always a great-grandmother, I can tell that the official title made her proud of the long battle she fought to stay with us for the time we were honored to share in her wisdom and her unique sense of humor.”
