Kim Nelson Rudolph cofounded Veterans Funeral Care with her husband Jim. She served 18 years as the office manager handling much of the day-to-day operations. Kim was born and raised in Clearwater and is a proud member of a Clearwater family that spans seven generations. She graduated from Largo High School and attended St. Pete College for early childhood education. Kim’s career started as a preschool teacher and administrator at Clearwater Largo Christian School. She attended First Assembly of God Church where she met Jim in Sunday School; she was 18 and he was 19. In 1979 she and Jim married and spent the next two decades learning about the funeral/cremation business while working in several different states. In 2001 she and Jim opened Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater. Kim is now retired from the funeral home but still participates as part of the hospitality team assisting with community events and funeral services. Since retiring Kim gets to spend more time doing what she loves, antiquing, crafting, wildlife photography and hiking in Estes Park in Colorado. Kim’s new job description has her devoting as much time as possible to her sons Jimmy (Jordan) grandchildren Jane and Sam, and Joel (Abigail).
