John passed away suddenly on December 12, 2024. He is survived by his brother
William “Bill” Christ, Laurie Swartz, his sister Marika Thiessen (Aaron), and his nieces
Sarah Christ and Rachel Christ-Doane (Patrick).
Born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, John was the firstborn of Christ and Effie Christ. He

his graduate work in physiology under Hebbel E. Hoff, MD, PhD, chairman of the

John was an avid reader, writer and self-publisher, with a deep love for science fiction,
particularly classics like "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Forbidden Planet." He was
a Co-founder of Grey Matters (Toastmasters) in Valrico, Florida, where he fostered

walking the 2024 Feaster Five the day before Thanksgiving.
John's life was filled with meaningful achievements and deep connections. He leaves
behind a legacy as a family historian, brother, friend, father, and accomplished
professional. His memory will forever inspire those who knew him.
