He joined the army on June 16, 1942 during WWII. He married the love of his life, Fay Noble on December 18, 1943. He and Fay raised their family in the Dayton, Ohio area. He became a skilled carpenter and worked as Superintendent for Shook Construction Co. as well as Petersons Construction until his retirement.
He and his wife Fay then became antique dealers and traveled to many states participating in antique shows. They had an antiques store in Union, Ohio & later in West Milton, Ohio. They moved to Dothan, AL where they were devoted members of Bethel Baptist Church. They continued their antiques business and had booths in the Land of Cotton Antique Mall. He was in his 80s when he & Fay decided to truly retire. They moved to Ohio and later to Safety Harbor, FL.
His smile instantly warmed the hearts of all he met. His sparkling blue eyes were captivating. He was always helping others. His life enriched all those that were fortunate to know him. He will forever be remembered and cherished.
