Patricia Ruth Butler Jones

Jones, Patricia Ruth Butler

Our most loving, beautiful and precious angel God ever made was welcomed into heaven on June 10, 2020. She was surrounded by more love than anyone could ever imagine. Together, as we held her, we rest in knowing that we learned to love, smile and always hold onto one another tight, by her. She taught us to do these very things and more; She was our leading example and was our heart, our life, our everything. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Flannigan, (husband) Mike, Suzanne Pothier, (husband) Sam and Melanie Maughan. Her grandchildren Ryan, Sam, Kevin and Kimberly. Her great-grandchildren, C.K., Noelle, Harper, Arabella, Ty, Sammy, Kassidy, Ally, Jessica and Noah (predeceased). One sister, Gwendolyn Jones Curtis, and brother, Brian Jones. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Betty Crouch,  and her brothers, Harold Jones and Kenneth Jones. She was loved and admired by all of her Family who carry on her legacy and life examples.

Patricia was born on March 7th, 1931 in Livingston, Tennessee and was the daughter of Rucker Jones and Annie Lee McDonald. Her family later moved to Tracy City, Tennessee where she attended Shook Elementary and Grundy County High School where she was crowned the only ever “May Queen” in 1949. Throughout her High school career, she was a cheerleader and active member of the Glee Club Dramatics where she took on a leading role in her Senior year’s play.

She married the love of her life, Charles Harold Butler in 1951. This year would have been their 69th wedding anniversary and now are celebrating in heaven together.

Her greatest aspiration in life was to become a mother to her three daughters. There could never be a more loving, caring and giving mother. Later in life she became a successful Property Manager where she took pride in her work and excelled in everything she did.  She made each day special for her family and anyone she came in contact with. You always left her knowing to be kind to others and to love God. She was beautiful inside and out and had an infectious smile that would light up any room she walked into. She found beauty in everyone and everything in life. She was extremely creative and had an artistic flare about her that has carried into the hearts of those who surrounded her.

We love you Mom, our Angel, Nana, Gramma. You will forever be in our hearts. You could not have been more loved, and we could not have been more blessed to have you with us for 89 years.

Rest in peace, our Angel. God be with you always. We will look to heaven for signs from you as we carry you on in our hearts.

We will forever hear your beautiful voice singing your favorite “happy song” in heaven, “Zip a dee doo dah, Zip a dee ay”.
