Agnes Stella Krol (Glance),88, of Land O’ Lakes, FL died February 17, 2009.
 
She was born April 22,1920 in Manchester, NH,daughter of Helen (Mammel) and Stanley Glance.  Agnes has traveled the world during her lifetime; in her younger years as a WAAC in World War II then with her husband and family, making Manchester home base until 1987 when she moved to Spring Hill, FL.
 
At the time of her death she was residing at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home in Land O’ Lakes, FL.  Serving as a WAAC during WWII, Agnes or Cpl. Glance was known as "The Velvet Voice" singing weekly for the troops on the Atlantic Overseas Air Service Commands Station WAAT.  She carried her singing throughout her life performing for talent shows, musicals and whenever she was asked.  As they say, "Belt one out", her "Ava Maria" brought tears to your eyes.  In November 2007, Agnes was interviewed and inducted into the US Library of Congress Veteran Inductee.  Along with the interview, Agnes brought her gift of song with "America the Beautiful" for all of America to hear.
 
Agnes was a cook by trade, a talent which she used very well, whether cooking for the troops or her family.  She was married to Joseph Krol until his death in September 1987.  Agnes was a bright and cheerful person, well-liked by everyone she met. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in September, 1987.  Surviving family members include 3 children: Patricia Boorom of Tamarac, FL, Joseph Krol Jr. of Largo, FL, and Cynthia George of Port Richey, FL; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 
 
Interment will be at 11am on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Florida National Cemetery, alongside her husband, Joseph.  Military Honors will be presented by Marion County Memorial Honor Guard.
