JEANNERETT, Alan Harrison born in Charleston, WV, on July 11, 1946. Died in St. Petersburg, FL, on October 13, 2012. Moved to Treasure Island, FL, in 1954.
He was a Treasure Island Beach Boy. Served as a paratrooper in the US Army, 1965 to 1969, with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Served with DEA, 1972 to 1974. Served with the U. S. Marshals Service, 1974 to 1998. Retired as Chief Deputy US Marshal. Returned home to Treasure Island in 1998.
Survived by daughter, Michelle Reeves; granddaughter, Chassity Reeves; great granddaughter, Khyleigh Reeves of Salisbury, NC; and brother, Rick Flack of Virginia Beach, VA.

I worked with Al at the USMS in the forfeiture Pogram from the late 80’s until his retirement. Al was a great colleague, full of energy and a lot of great ideas. Anyone he dealt with quickly became a friend. The Forfeiture Program owes him a debt of gratitude. He was one of a kind and will be missed.
I will miss my teacher and mentor. Al was a unique individual with a passion for life and a compassion for people. I am grateful that he called me his friend. Bottoms Up Al!!
I have known Al Many years as coworker colleague . I was fortunate to have known and work with Al He was great guy and good friend and he surely will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Al made us laugh, cry and laugh until we cried. If all the people who read this were to tell a story about Al, we still wouldn’t be able to figure him out completely. He was a unique man who silently gave to those in need. He loved his country, the law, the military and a good education. I came into the asset forfeiture program in 1989 not having any idea how the program worked. Al took me under his wings and with his guidance and passion, I began loving the program as he did. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. He was truly one of the pioneers and helped to shape asset forfeiture into the respected program it is today. I am so thankful to have known him.
Having known Alan since 1271, and being a housemate a couple of times. Alan was my best man when I got married in 1973. we drank together had adventures and just spent time together. I will miss him. our birthdays were one year and one day apart. life is better for us both.

I got to know Al when our paths crossed a few times but got to know him well in Atlanta. A really great guy, I will miss him.
Al will be missed so much. He certainly had his unique sense of humor and made us all laugh. He always worried about others that were not as fortunate as he and tried very hard to take care of them all. He had a tender heart, all though I’m sure he would never want anyone to think that and wouldn’t admit it except to his very best of friends. He loved his USMS career and what the USMS stood for. Al will always be part of special memories of our TI Beach Boy days and will forever remain a good friend! When the 5 TI Beach Boys joined the Army in 1965 (Pat, Steve, Butch, Al and Rich) we had a special bond that is carried to the present day and one of the sayings that we had was “friends were like diamonds, very rare, precious and hard to find”. We all raise our beer bottle to you and salute our dear friend Al. RIP
Al was one of a kind. He was very devoted to the USMS and I learned many things from him. He partied just as hard as he worked and was always great to be around. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family.
When all joined the army and also came back from Viet Nam I thought that was a good thing. Al kept on serving the US as a US Marshall. I always thought of him as or “Tommy Lee Jones” in US Marshall. Stubborn and cranky but he was that way when a neighbor when we were in high school.
I will miss you Al. Rest in Peace friend until we meet again.

I worked with Al in Atlanta in the late 1980’s. He was a good man. My thoughts and prayers go out on behalf of his friends and family.
Knew Alan well. Will remember the good times we had together in our services to the USMS. We were to meet in Florida several times after we retired but it never seemed to work out for one reason or another. Wish we tryed harder. Was a kick to work with. God rest his soul.
We had only known Al for the last 15 years or so but he became a friend and a friend who will be sorely missed. He was always ’Al’ he loved to play the Grinch but in reality he had the most generous spirit. Even when his illness laid him low he always made the effort to come out to spend an hour with us at our favorite watering hole.
You will be missed by your friends in England.
I met Al on the first day of USMS Basic Deputy Training in January 1975. We were in the same class. I was just 22 years old and coming straight from college and the farm in Indiana. Alan expected and demanded that I work and perform as well or better than other USMS recruits. It didn’t matter that I was a female! Al was sometimes tough on me and the other 8 females in the class but was always one of our best supporters. We became friends. The friendship endured throughout our careers with the USMS. I have been honored and privileged to have known, worked with and had Alan Jeanerette be a part of my life’s journey! May God be with his soul and with those who remain and will greatly miss him!
I worked with Al for many years in San Francisco and other areas of the USA. We had plenty of laughs through those years.

Al and I were close friends during those TI days in the early 60s. When he turned 16 and I was a year younger he wanted to drive and we talked my mother into letting him drive her car on weekends that summer. What I time we had. Some of my fondest memories are from those times and adventures we had along the beaches. To bad we didn’t reconnect after he came back to TI. So sad that he and Butch passed within a week of each other is such a shock.
Someone here mentioned that Al gave to those in need. How true. I am here to say; I was in need once and Al was there for me. He gave me a work when I couldnt find any. He offered his patience, understanding and guidance too, while making me laugh in his own unique way, which helped make light of my situation and raised my spirits at the time. For that and so much else I want to say “Thanks Al” you were a blessing.
