Veterans Funeral Care Alfred Troop, Jr.

Alfred E. Troop, Jr., 86, of Pinellas Park, FL, known to all as -Troop- died on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.  He was born in Boston, MA on January 1, 1923, the son of the late Alfred E. and Margaret Keller Troop, Sr.

His family moved to Miami, FL  where Alfred attended local schools, and later enlisted  in the Air Force, serving his country during both World War II and the Korean War.  He was an aircraft inspector during his military years, and later became a civilian mechanic for Eastern Airlines and other major airlines before his retirement in 1985. Troop traveled all over the world while he was employed with the airlines.

He moved to Pinellas Park in 2005 from Naples, FL and  is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wilma. He is predeceased by his first wife of 20 years, Betty and his loving canine companion, Muggins.  He will be sadly missed by his wife, Wilma, and Wilma’s family who resides in Wisconsin. He will also be sadly missed by his close and personal friends, Bob Richardson of  Boynton Beach, FL, Dr. Robert Tober of Naples, FL,  Frank Susco, of Pinellas Park, Thomas Schultz of Great Valley, NY, Tim Binzant, Lady Lake, FL, Roy & Tina Bankston, Winston-Salem, NC, and an infinite list of military and personal friends. 

Interment took place at Florida National Cemetery on May 11, 2009.
