Andrew Christopher Dorsey, 12, of Clearwater, FL funeral is 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Grace Christian Fellowship, 901 Ridge Road, Largo, FL. 33770 with Pastor Randy Morris, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday Evening, December 18, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Final interment will be at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Largo, FL.
A native of Clearwater, FL, Andrew was born on April 25, 1997 and died on December 15, 2009 at All Children’s Hospital in St Petersburg, FL.
Andrew was a member of Harvest Temple Church in Largo, FL. Andrew’s passions were skateboarding and graffiti art. His lifelong ambition was to enlist in the United States Army when he turned eighteen. From an early age, he had a keen interest in the military and expressed his desire to be a sniper in the Army. Andrew never met a dog he didn’t like and often walked the neighbor’s dogs as a "job." He most often spent his money on skateboards at Double Barrel Surf & Skate where he became good friends with the owner, Skip. Until the time he would be old enough to enlist in the Army, his wish was to work for Skip.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronnell and Annette Dorsey and his aunt, Gail Dulin, Andrew is survived by his loving family: His father and mother, Dannie and Melanie Dorsey of Clearwater, FL; a brother, Avery Dorsey and a sister, Audra Dorsey of Clearwater, FL; his grandparents: Reverend Don Clark and his wife, June of Morgantown, MS; his uncles and aunts; Randy and Debbie Clark of Calhoun, GA; Kerry and Melissa Clark of Homosassa Springs, FL, Ronnell and Debbie Dorsey of Seffner, FL, Preston and Callie Dorsey of McDonough, GA, Dessie Hammock of Thomaston, GA and a host of cousins, friends and church members.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Harvest Temple Church, 13301 Walsingham Road, Largo, FL 33774, Attention: Pastor Randy Morris, in the memory of Andrew C. Dorsey. All donations will be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.

I always enjoyed watching Andrew skateboarding in front of our house and landing those amazing tricks. He was so helpful to Dakota & Dawson when they first got thier skateboards. He was a very special boy and we will miss him and his beautiful smile that he always had on his face. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Andrew you are in the Lords presence forever now and we all await the day when we will loin with you. I know you will be cheering for your family and friends from the great cloud of witnesses. We will see you there by faith.
Andrew you will be truly missed here on earth but will truly be welcomed in the house of the the Lord. I hope and pray that Granny Dorsey was there to meet you as you ENTERED HEAVEN. And I could hear her saying “WELCOME HOME SMILEY”. May you have peace and comfort as you wait for us to be greeted by YOU when our souls are called to be taken to HEAVEN. Andrew may your soul be blessed as we cry for your family as they will miss you, but WILL NEVER FORGET YOU. P.S. We were so blessed at Andrew’s funeral to see such an amazing family pay their respects and love to the Lord and and show their love to a wonderful boy! You all are an amazing family and Andrew is a blessed child of God! We are so happy he is skateboarding on the streets of gold and no longer suffering! We are praying for your loss.
