Disler, Barbara A., age 82, of Seminole, FL, passed away in her home on October 10, 2014 after an extended battle with cancer.
Barbara was born in Chillocothe, Ohio. As an Air Force wife, she moved around the country living in Texas, Indiana, and Ohio before settling in Seminole, Florida with her husband and two sons in 1976.
She was a strong woman who was far more concerned about her family than she was about herself. She successfully won her battle with cancer on three prior occasions. After her first diagnosis she prayed that she would live to see her children grow. After the second diagnosis she said it was caught early and was not a problem. The third time required chemotherapy and she faced it without fear. The fourth time she asked for one more year. She made it fourteen months.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and going to casinos. She was a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. She loved her church, Connect 2 Christ in Seminole, and attended services as often as possible. Her passion was caring for her family who will miss her greatly.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Hardman. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don; two sons, Don Disler of Tampa, FL and Tim Disler of North Port, FL; daughter in law, Corinne Disler of Tampa, FL; daughter in law, Jackie Disler of North Port, FL; three granddaughters, Kori and Kristen Disler of North Port, FL and Jennifer Cobin of Tampa, FL; sister, Janet Stout of Canton GA; three brothers, Paul Hardman of Amarillo, TX, Tom Hardman of Chillocothe, OH, and Jack Hardman of Cape Coral, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Connect 2 Christ Church at 9398 Oakhurst Road, Seminole, FL 33776, followed by a brief ceremony at Bay Pines Cemetery and a reception at her home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Connect 2 Christ church at http://c2cchurch.com.
