I just learned the death of Mr. Carmelo Costa. I am writing you from France. Sorry for the mistakes… I am a close friend of his former adversary, the European champion Sharif Hamia Carmelo Costa faced in New York on 30 March 1956. Sherif also died, just 60 years old in 1991. I wanted to tell you that he appreciated the pugilistic qualities of Mr. Carmelo Costa. On his return from the United States, he told the French press that he was a gentleman of the ring. Please accept my condolences. They will perhaps a friendly hand both in heaven boxers… Kind regards. Nasser Negrouche.
My condolances on the passing of your father. We were in the army together in 1958/59. We were at West Point together
