Charles E. Gibson, 89, -TEC 4- US Army-World War II Veteran-of Largo, FL died on July 11, 2010 at Helen Ellis Hospital, Tarpon Springs, FL form natural causes.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a local resident since 1987, when he moved here from Lincoln, Nebraska, he was a retired service manager for the automotive business; a protestant and a member of the American Legion.
During his military career, TEC 4 Gibson served under General George Patton in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded a American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Battle Stars; two overseas bard; one service stripe and a Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his son, Charles K. Gibson and his wife, Ann of Holiday, FL and two grandchildren: Jeffrey W. Gibson, Victoria Ann Ziegler and one great grandchild, Bradly Ziegler.
Burial will be in the family plot at the Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
