Clyde D. Harvey, Sr., 56, of Dunedin, passed away on August 28, 2014. He was born in Montgomery, WVA.
Mr. Harvey served his country in the US Army for over ten years and was Honorably Discharge as a Staff Sergeant. Ever since he was a little boy, he had always wanted to follow his big brother’s footsteps into the US Army. His brother, Carmel B. Harvey, Jr., was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967 and was the recipient of the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions. He was idolized by his younger brother. Mr. Harvey’s time in the Army was some of the best years of his life. Eve once he got out of the Army, he was always a very patriotic person.
Following his time in the service, he was a pile driver and also spent many years working in a steel mill. Mr. Harvey had three true loves in his life, his first wife, Julie, mother to Jennifer and Clyde; his second wife, Patty, mother of Sam and Cody; and his third wife Barbara. He loved very deeply and was friends to the last with his first two wives. Barbara passed away and he never recovered from that.
He loved spending time with his children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, his grandson and grand-pup. He had a very good friend that he considered to be family and always had a blast. They would take off in the car and end up on some sort of awesome adventure. He loved to cook and he was famous for his stuffed jalapenos. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, enjoyed nature, and could sit for hours listening to birds chirp and watching the leaves sway in the breeze. He loved to feed the squirrels and the ducks and got such a kick out of how they would come every morning wanting their breakfast. Mr. Harvey loved music, especially the blues. He loved it so much that at one time in his life he actually managed a cover band called Texas OverDrive. They also covered ZZ Top and he loved that.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmel and Marcella Harvey, Sr.; brother Carmel Harvey, Jr,; and sister, Barbara. He is survived by sons, Clyde, Sam and Cody (Lauryn); daughter, Jennifer Harvey-Valdes (Robbie) and a grandson and grand-pup.
A Military Honors Service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 3:00PM on Friday, September 5, 2014.

Dear Family & Friends of Clyde:
We are so sorry for your loss. Clyde was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church…He was so proud of his son in the military, as well as his little grandbaby…Clyde was very kind to everyone and especially to my mother…He would help wheel her out of the church whenever he was present…Clyde gave a generous donation to buy a new piece of lawn equipment when it was stolen from the church. He will be dearly missed.
I love and miss you so much daddy. I just can’t process you being gone.
