Clyde Joseph Steelman, 82, SFC, US Army –Retired- World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran funeral service is 2:30 PM, July 29, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 with the United States Army and the Marion County Military Honor Guard, to officiate.
A native of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, a long time resident of Pemberton, NJ, and more recently Clearwarter, FL, died at Freedom Inn at Countryside, Clearwater, FL on July 7, 2011, from natural causes.
SFC Steelman was a member of Hardin Baptist Church in Hardin, NC and a member of the American Legion Post 294 in Pemberton, NJ.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Steelman, Clyde is survived by his loving family: his wife of 56 years, June Steelman of Tampa, FL; his son, Kevin J. Steelman and his wife, Terri of Odessa, FL; his daughter; Susan Lynn Howlett and her husband, Gary of Rathdrum, Idaho; a brother, Frank Steelman and his wife, Maxine of Dallas, North Carolina; his sisters: Betty Hongisto of Stanley, North Carolina and Faye Costner and her husband, Bud of Bessemer City, North Carolina.
