Veterans Funeral Care Dallas Cook, Sr.

 

Dallas S. Cook, Sr., 91, passed away on February 8, 2009 at his residence. A native of Greencastle, Indiana, he relocated to Florida in 1961 and settled permanently in Oklawaha in 1973. Dallas enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and football, and was of the Quaker faith. He demonstrated a remarkable and unfailing devotion to his family who loved him dearly. Dallas was an Army veteran, having served five years during World War II, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service following thirty years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his daughter, Carole Kelly; his son, Dallas S. Cook, Jr.; granddaughter, Adrianna Cook Duran and her husband, Kirk; and his great grandson, Lance.

Predeceased family members are his wife of 49+ years, Lucille Folsom Cook; his parents, Charles H. and Vivian Cook, Sr.; and his brother, Charles H. Cook, Jr.

Visitation and services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21 beginning at 10am from Oklawaha United Methodist, 13333 SE CR 25, Oklawaha, with interment at Belleview Cemetery with military honors to follow.
