Daniel R. (Rod) Traylor Jr., 57, St. Petersburg, FL passed away July 18, 2009 at Bay Pines VA Health Care System, Bay Pines, FL.
Rod was born August 13, 1951 in Bethesda, Maryland and was a Florida resident for 42 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Rod served in Germany. After leaving military service, he trained and worked as an automotive paint and body technician and was well known for his quality work in that field. He was also an animal lover and an avid fisherman.
Rod was preceded in death by loving parents, Daniel Sr. and Pat Traylor. Survivors include four sisters; Judy Browne (Glenn), Linda Vosbury (Pete), Danna Tokarsky, and Helen Slagle; a brother, John; nieces Patricia Browne and Jessica Slagle; and nephews Glenn Browne Jr., William Sorton Jr. and David Sorton.
Other survivors include many dear friends who shared his life and were like family to him; Sue, Justin, Stanley, Patty, Annette and numerous others.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity or a charity that benefits American Veterans.
Rod,
I know you are in a better place now, free from pain. I can envision you with rod and reel in hand, fishing the best waters in heaven!
You will be missed by your family and dear friends, but I know we will all be together again some day. Rest in peace.
