Lt. O’Shea was born on November 16, 1916 in Easthampton, Massachusetts to Daniel J. and Delia (Chartier) O’Shea. His wife, Fern, of 74 years and the love of his life was at his bedside in their apartment when he quietly left to be with the Lord and join his son, Danny; his parents and his brothers and sisters in Heaven. Lt. ‘Danny’ O’Shea served in the United States Air Force from May 10, 1943 and retired on June 30, 1965. He was a Pilot on the C-47 “Gooney Bird” aircraft and a Flight Engineer on the C-133 “Cargomaster” aircraft. After retiring from the United States Air Force, he became a successful owner and manager of service oriented businesses in the Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach, Florida area. He finally retired to the Brandon area in 1995, played golf regularly, attended Nativity Catholic Church, and spent most of his time just loving all the members of his family in special and caring ways. He was a true patriot and a 100% disabled, retired veteran.
He is survived by his wife Fern ((Wheeler) O’Shea, whom he met in 1932 (when she was 14 years old) and they were married on September 20, 1939 in Northampton, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his daughters: Patricia Warren and her husband, Lt. Col. James Warren, USAF-Retried of Valrico, Florida; and Diane Rymer and her husband John Rymer of Cumming, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Marilyn O’Shea of Tampa, Florida; his sister, Virginia Parsons of Northampton, Massachusetts; six grandchildren: James Warren of Valrico, Florida; Pamela Whitaker and husband, Andrew, of Darien, Connecticut; John Rymer III of Atlanta, Georgia; Kirk Rymer of Atlanta, Georgia; Shawn Creed of Tampa, Florida; Kelly Edwards and husband Jimmy of Tampa, Florida; and five beautiful great granddaughters; Lucy Whitaker, Mary Whitaker, Rachael Creed, Taylor Creed and Charlotte Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in memory of Lt. Daniel O’Shea.
