Hello to Anyone Reading This,
For four of my 12 years in the Air Force I served as an Airman Leadership School instructor. One of the assignments for students was on Enlisted Air Force History. Over the course of the four years, I was graced with hearing at least ten to 15 briefs on CMSgt GRACE Peterson and her late husband. (This was from 2008-2012)
Looking back though, I believe I may have had an actual encounter with Grace at Yountville VA Home in California around 2005, but am unable to confirm. I recall having a conversation (as a young Airman, I had only been in 3 years) with a lady in the library and her stating she was the first CMSgt in the AF. It didn’t affect me then as I didn’t understand the weight of such a statement and impact. Ever since then, I have tried and tried to locate Grace. I seem to come across information via AF articles as late as 2015. Luckily, I have not located an obituary, so I’m in hopes someone can guide me to how I may contact Grace. Just to say thank you and swap stories and tell her about the impact she continued (and continues) to have on MANY female Airmen.
If anyone knows how I may reach her, please email me at Trista.M.White@gmail.com.
Thank you,
SSgt White, 2002-2014 Active Duty, 2014-present Reserves
